Headstart and COHI

Headstart - Tanis John

Headstart is an On-Reserve program to enhance early childhood development, school readiness and overall family health and wellness for children from birth to six years old. 

​

Headstart programs include six key components:

  1. Culture and Language

  2. Education

  3. Health Promotion

  4. Nutrition

  5. Parent and Family involvement 

  6. Social Support

​

Boothroyd Indian Band Headstart program runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. For more information and hours contact Tanis at the Band Office 604-867-9211

Children's Oral Health Initiative (COHI)

​

COHI is an early childhood tooth decay prevention program for children from 0 - 7, their parents, caregivers and pregnant women. Services include annual screening and flouride varnish application.

 

Tanis is the COHI representative for Boothroyd Indian Band, Boston Bar First Nation and Spuzzum First Nation. To find out more information and when the next screening day will be you can call her at our office.
