Research Unit 

Summer Student Position

​

The Nlaka'pamux Nation Tribal Council is seeking a reliable and highly motivated person to work with the Research team on a number of projects this summer. Duties may include indexing our map collection, updating our library index, assisting with Resource Centre expansion, data entry, transcription and other ad hoc projects. 

Qualifications:

  • Completed one to two years post secondary education or pervious experience

  • Familiarity with library and archives systems 

  • Computer knowledge particularly in word processing and scanning software

  • Attention to detail

  • Good typing and writing skills for reports and material summaries

  • Interest in Nlaka'pamux history and culture

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Ensure proper identification of the relationship between hard copies and digital copies of documents and other archival materials 

  • Transcribe handwritten and recorded materials 

  • Work closely with NNTC Research team on projects as needed

  • Adhere to privacy and confidentiality agreement with respect to archival materials 

Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation.

Logo Contest

Boothroyd is looking for a new logo that will be placed on the Band vehicles and used for the entrance to the Reserve! The logo contest is open to Band Members only and will be open until May 14, 2018 at 4:00 PM.

Contest Rules:

- Have logo on an 8 1/2 x 11" paper with your name and contact information, along with a brief explanation of the design

- The logo must be an original design

- Winner of the contest understands that the logo will then belong to Boothroyd Indian Band 

 

The winner will be announced May 21, 2018.

Burn off and Backfiring Training 

On April 21 and 22 Boothroyd held training with George Campbell and Firestorm Enterprise to train anyone that wanted to participate throughout the weekend. There was a great turnout of 20 people that participated from Boothroyd, Lytton, Kanaka, Lillooet and Chawathil.  

 

With the great turnout George is hoping to create more opportunities for future training in Boothroyd for the coming months.

 Boothroyd's New Greenhouse!

Boothroyd has just finished construction on the greenhouse purchased earlier this fall. The greenhouse will be used to help with food stability in Boothroyd and to grow traditional plants during the winter months. If you have any suggestions as what you would want us to grow come let us know.
